Rockability

Swirlypine digs Rockabilly and proudly salutes ...

Wanda Jackson "The Queen of Rockabilly"

Wanda is not only a pioneering rockabilly and country musician, but she also is a follower of Jesus. She has recorded several gospel records and is very open about her Christian faith. She is also still very active in the global rockabilly scene where she tours and plays all over the world regularly. Wanda is still recording and has a record coming out soon which has Elvis Costello, Lee Rocker from the Stray Cats, Dave Alvin from the Blasters and others playing on it which she talks about in this interview. (Says ...www.vintagefaith.com")

Read it and be sure to race with the devil while you are wearing those blue suede shoes, black slacks, and listening to your Lifters record. This little lady is about the only one we know that rocks almost as hard as God!

The belief that Jesus died to redeem humankind
An expectation of the Second Coming, or physical return, of Jesus Christ to initiate his thousand-year rule of the Earth, which came to be known as the Millennium

More Great Southern Gospel

From the Happy Goodmans of yesteryear, to today's vibrant and active "Talley Trio" Southern White Gospel music is as relevant as ever. Swirlypine wants to share pictures of The Talley Trio to prove that being a Christian is not always about denial, sacrifice, and risking your life for Christ .... but it can be fun too!

The Happy Goodmans

Swirlypine wants to take some time this summer to celebrate some of our country's great Gospel recording artists of yesterday and today and tommorrow. Where better to start than with the Happy Goodmans!

"In a small recording studio with one camera, Howard and Vestal joined many of their friends. Jake, Hovie, James, Eva Mae etc., and taped with Bill Gaither what is now the most dynamic music events in history simply called The Homecoming Series. In the year 2001 the Happy Goodmans recorded their last video and album and also began touring for what would truly be the Final Stand. " From the web site ----
